It was another successful day for Morpeth Harriers as they produced the first two in the Exhibition Park 5k through Nick Swinburn and Matty Nicholson as well as the first lady in Sarah Wilkinson. The popular event, organised by Newcastle City Council with the assistance of Elswick Harriers, starts inside Newcastle's Exhibition Park before heading out around the Town Moor with a loop inside the Park to finish. Elswick Harriers hosted their annual Newburn River Run on Wednesday and it was another night of success for Morpeth Harriers as they provided winners in both men's and women's races. Prolific racer Ian Harding, despite suffering from hayfaver and feeling tired after recent exertions, took the lead shortly after the start and was never headed in a field that had 328 finishers. |
